Big second half win gives Missouri the win over UMSL in exhibition 77-54

By Tim Leible, KBIA Sports

The Tigers got off to a sluggish start in their final exhibition of the season against University of Missouri – St. Louis. Poor rebounding and foul trouble inside caused Missouri to stray away from its game plan. The Tigers caught fire at the end of the first half to take a 39-34 lead. They buried UMSL in the second half.  Johnathan Williams III played well in his return to action, scoring 13 points and gathering up 12 rebounds. The offensive stars of the game, however, were Montaque Gill-Caesar and Keith Shamburger. Gill-Caesar scored 19 points, while Shamburger put up 13 points and had six assists. One major upside for Missouri is that its two primary point guards, Shamburger and Wes Clark, combined for 10 assists and no turnovers.
