Mizzou earns a 3-0 win over Arkansas

The Missouri volleyball team dominated Arkansas 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-22) Friday night at the Hearnes Center. They are now 14-11 overall and 5-5 in the SEC.
In the first set, the Tigers leaped ahead of the Razorbacks, as they went on a 9-1 run to gain an eight-point lead. They continued racking up points, maintaining a two-digit lead throughout most of the match.
Arkansas led by a couple of points starting off the second set, until the Tigers caught up with them 9-9. From there, Missouri slowly moved ahead, leading Arkansas by a few points. The Tigers were able to maintain their thin margin to win the second set.
The two teams were neck-to-neck as the third set opened up. They tied numerous times, with Missouri finding themselves up a few points only to have Arkansas catch up and even the score. Finally, after the 14-14 mark, Missouri strung a 6-0 run. They kept up that lead to win the match.
The Tigers hit .242 with 40 kills. Their defense was strong, limiting Arkansas to a .124 hitting percentage. Carly Kan lead the team tonight with 10 kills and 11 digs, her 15th double-double of the season. Emily Wilson had a team-high hitting percentage of .412 with eight kills, while Emily Thater had five kills on a .333 hitting percentage and grabbed four blocks.
Missouri will play Texas A&M 3 p.m. Sunday at the Hearnes Center.
