Missouri defeated Louisiana State 3-1 Friday night at Walton Stadium to open Southeastern Conference play. Missouri never trailed and controlled possession throughout the game. Missouri (6-1-2) has won four consecutive matches,
scoring 11 goals during that span.
Junior Reagan Russell had two goals, and freshman Kaitlyn Clark scored her first collegiate goal to put Missouri ahead in the 60th minute. Clark also assisted Russell’s first goal. Missouri held a 21-8 shot advantage over LSU, boosted by a barrage of attempts early in the second half. After a scoreless first period, Missouri managed 12 shots after halftime. Three found the back of the net, and Missouri pushed its unbeaten streak to seven games.
Missouri continues SEC play when it faces South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina at 5 p.m.
