Missouri topples Cal State Northridge, 3-1

Missouri closed its non-conference schedule Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over Cal State Northridge at Walton Stadium. The Tigers dug themselves
into an early hole, but were able to score three consecutive goals on their way to a fifth victory on the year. Kaysie Clark and Taylor Grant accounted for two of Missouri’s goals, while the Matadors hurt themselves with an own goal in the 82nd minute.
The Tigers controlled possession throughout the match, and goalkeeper McKenzie Sauerwein only faced one shot all afternoon. Missouri outshot CSUN 18-5, and had eight shots on goal. Clark increased her team lead in assists to eight after setting up Grant on a corner kick in the 55th minute. Missouri begins SEC play when it hosts LSU Friday at 6:30.
