Hundreds of workers signed the last steel beam to be laid in the expansion work at Memorial Stadium in a topping out ceremony on Friday. The ceremony is a construction industry tradition, marking ta milestone in the construction process. Tim Hickman, MU’s senior associate athletic director for operations, said it’s now a sprint to the finish with several hundred workers on site to finish the renovation.

Construction started last spring on new east side seating at Memorial Stadium, part of a $200 million master plan for upgrades and new construction to Missouri’s sports facilities. With just four months before Missouri’s football season kicks off against South Dakota State, the new stands are finally taking shape. KBIA’s Philip Joens takes us around the new addition.
