Michael Sam, defense receive All SEC honors for Mizzou

Michael Sam was named Defensive Play of the Year award and three other defensive players made the 2013 Associated Press All-Southeastern Conference football team, which were announced today. Seven Missouri Tigers were named in today’s honors, including Justin Britt on first team offense.

SEC champion Auburn received 12 honors, including Tre Mason for offensive player of the year and Gus Malzahn as coach of the year.

Heismann Trophy winner Johnny Manziel was selected as first team quarterback.
