Mizzou volleyball wins first two in Tiger Invitational

With strong play from seniors Molly Kreklow and Lisa Henning,

Missouri won its first two games in the Tiger Invitational Friday at the Hearnes Center.

In the Tigers’ first match of the tournament, they beat South Dakota 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-16). They needed four games to beat Pittsburgh, 3-1 (25-13, 23-25, 25-14, 25-13).

Henning had 33 kills on .377 hitting. Kreklow had 45 assists against South Dakota and 51 against Pittsburgh.

The Tigers also benefited from strong play from freshmen Emily Thater and Carly Kan.  The Tigers, who have won five of the last six invitationals, wrap up the tournament Saturday with Idaho State at noon and Arkansas State at 4 p.m.

There is free admission for the tournament.
