The Missouri baseball team brought out the bats in Tuesday’s 9-3 win over Jackson State (9-7), riding a seven-run second inning to the win.

Thirteen Tigers came to the plate in the second inning, and the offensive effort knocked out JSU’s starting pitcher Chris Wingard (five earned runs on seven total runs allowed, five hits and two walks) after just an inning and two thirds pitched.

Missouri starter Alec Rash attained a win in his first college start, pitching four innings in which he allowed an unearned run on one hit and one walk. Rash struck out seven in the game.

Leading the way on offense for Missouri was Logan Pearson (two hits, a run batted in and a run scored), Case Munson (two hits and a run scored) and Dylan Kelly (two hits and a run scored).

Missouri plays tomorrow, in a game scheduled early on Tuesday. Truman State (2-11) will be in town for a 4 p.m. game at Taylor Stadium, ahead of Missouri’s Southeastern Conference debut against South Carolina on Friday.
