The new-look Missouri Tigers opened the exhibition portion of their 2012-2013 season with a 91-58 victory over the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats on Monday at Mizzou Arena. Many athletic transfers made an impact in their Missouri debut, including Earnest Ross (formerly of Auburn) with a game high 22 points, Alex Oriakhi (Connecticut) with eight points and 10 rebounds and Keion Bell (Pepperdine), who scored 20 points and threw down another highlight reel dunk.

Also in uniform for the Tigers was the familiar face of Laurence Bowers. Bowers, the senior forward who missed the  2011-2012 season for the Tigers following a preseason anterior cruciate ligament tear, scored 14 points in his return.

Senior guard Michael Dixon Jr., was on the bench for the Tigers but didn’t appear in the game. Dixon was suspended indefinitely by coach Frank Haith this week along with freshman guard Dominique Bull for a “violation of team rules.”

Junior guard Phil Pressey logged 25 minutes for Missouri, scoring four points and dishing a game high 11 assists.
