Dolphins draft Michael Egnew

Michael Egnew became the first Missouri Tiger selected in the 2012 NFL Draft.  Egnew, an All-American tight end at Missouri, was taken in the third round by the Miami Dolphins with the 78th overall pick.

Egnew was the third tight end selected in this year’s draft, behind second-round pick Coby Fleener from Stanford and fellow third-round pick Dwayne Allen from Clemson.

As a junior in 2010, Egnew caught 90 passes for 762 yards and five touchdowns.  He followed that up with a senior year in which he recorded 50 receptions for 523 yards and three touchdowns.
