Mizzou loses all three consolation matches

No. 3 Alan Waters spends the majority of the first to periods on his knees in attempt to take a shot at No. 4 Jesse Delgado in the sixth round of the 125 pound NCAA consolation bracket on the evening of Friday, March 16, 2012 in St. Louis, Mo. Waters lost 5-2.


The Tigers are done wrestling in the NCAA tournament after the remaining three wrestlers all lost in the sixth round of consolation matches. No. 3 Alan Waters lost to No. 4 Jesse Delgado 5-2. Waters spent most of the first two periods on his knees trying to take a shot, but wasn’t able to earn enough points. Mike Larson went up against No. 5 Kevin Steinhaus from Minnisota. Steinhaus won by tech fall, 17-2. Brent Haynes battled against No. 11 Joseph Kennedy, but wasn’t able to rally enough points to win and Haynes lost 10-3. Missouri dropped to 24th in team standings, still with 20 points.
