Missouri’s undefeated showing last weekend didn’t go unnoticed by collegiate volleyball coaches around the nation. In the Aug. 30 American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, Missouri received 18 votes, sixth-most of any Big 12 team.

Texas (No. 2), Nebraska (No. 7), and Iowa State (No. 12) cracked the top 25 out of the Big 12. Baylor (24) and Texas A&M (19) garnered more votes than Missouri.

Missouri did not receive any votes in the pre-season AVCA poll.

Until Missouri plays Iowa State Sept. 18, the team will not face a team currently ranked in the AVCA poll. However, Missouri will play fellow AVCA vote receivers Rice (8) and Pepperdine (17) in a doubleheader Sept. 4 at the Pepperdine Ascics Invitational.
